# Interview Branding

> Interview Branding allow you to customize how your candidate-facing interview pages look and feel. You can create branded experiences that match your company's style and remove HeyMilo branding for a fully white-labeled experience.

## What Is Interview Branding?

Interview Branding controls the design and content of pages candidates see when they:

* start an interview
* complete an interview
* interact with the AI interviewer

You create reusable **templates**, then apply them to interviewers.

## Where to Find Interview Branding

From the left sidebar:

**Outreach → Interview Branding**

<figure><img src="/files/Y1UjCPGYB4nbdBPvM3fm" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You’ll see two tabs:

* **Templates**
* **Template Groups**

## Template Types & Configuration

Templates define one candidate-facing page at a time. Each template is reusable across interviewers.

You can set one template group as the **default** for your workspace. When set, new interviewers automatically use this template group.

1. Go to **Template Groups**
2. Find the group you want as default
3. Click the **three dots menu** (⋮)
4. Select **Set as Default**

To remove the default, click **Remove Default** from the same menu.

## Best Practices

### Keep It Professional

Make sure all links you add (privacy policy, terms, support) are working and lead to legitimate pages. Broken links create a poor candidate experience.

### Use High-Quality Branding Assets

When uploading images (company logos, avatars, or backdrops), use high-resolution images for the best visual quality. For logos, use transparent backgrounds (PNG format recommended). For interview avatars, use square or portrait-oriented images. For backdrops, use landscape-oriented images that complement your brand colors and don't distract from the interview content.

### Test Your Templates

Before rolling out a new design template to all your agents, test it with one agent first. Go through the candidate experience yourself to make sure everything looks and works as expected, including how your logo and company name appear.

### Use Descriptive Names

Give your templates and groups clear, descriptive names like "Engineering Roles - Branded" or "Sales Team - White Label" so you can easily identify them later.

### Maintain Consistency

Use the same template group across similar roles to provide a consistent candidate experience. This helps build your employer brand.

### Update Regularly

If your company updates its privacy policy, terms of conditions, logo, company name, or interview branding assets (avatar/backdrop images), remember to update your design templates accordingly.

## Common Questions

<details>

<summary>Will candidates see my changes immediately?</summary>

Yes! Once you apply a design template group to an agent, any new candidates who start interviews will see the customized pages immediately.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I preview my templates before applying them?</summary>

The best way to preview is to apply the template group to a test agent and go through the interview flow yourself using the test interview feature.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if I don't create any design templates?</summary>

Your agents will use the default HeyMilo interface, which works perfectly fine. Design templates are optional and mainly useful for companies that want to white-label the experience or add their own legal links.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I apply different template groups to different agents?</summary>

Yes! Each agent can have its own template group, or you can use the same group across multiple agents. This flexibility lets you customize the experience based on role, department, or any other criteria.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What image formats are supported for the company logo?</summary>

You can upload common image formats including JPG, PNG, GIF, and SVG. We recommend using PNG format with a transparent background for the best appearance across different page backgrounds.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if I don't add a company name or logo?</summary>

If you don't add a custom company name or logo in your design template, the welcome page will use your workspace's default company settings. The custom name and logo fields are optional overrides that let you use different branding for specific agents or roles.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I remove the logo after uploading it?</summary>

Yes! When editing a template, you'll see a "Remove" button next to any uploaded logo. Click it to remove the logo from the template. You can then upload a different logo or leave it empty to use the default.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What's the difference between Welcome Page and Interview Page templates?</summary>

Welcome Page templates customize the first page candidates see before starting the interview (with company branding, legal links, etc.). Interview Page templates customize the actual interview interface where candidates interact with your AI agent (with custom avatar and backdrop images). You can use both types together in a template group for a fully branded experience.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What size should my avatar and backdrop images be?</summary>

For avatar images, we recommend square or portrait-oriented images (512x512px or higher). For backdrop images, use landscape-oriented images (1920x1080px or higher). Both will be automatically optimized for different screen sizes, but starting with high-resolution images ensures the best quality.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I use the same avatar image across multiple agents?</summary>

Yes! You can create one Interview Page template with your avatar and backdrop images, then include it in multiple template groups. This makes it easy to maintain consistent branding across all your agents. If you want different avatars for different roles, simply create multiple Interview Page templates.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need to upload both avatar and backdrop images?</summary>

No, both are optional. You can upload just an avatar, just a backdrop, or both. If you don't upload custom images, the interview will use the default interface. This gives you flexibility to customize only the elements you want to change.

</details>
